BJP's Kalyan Choubey withdraws, clears way for Maniktala assembly bypoll
The Jharkhand High Court has provided relief to BJP state president Babulal Marandi in a case related to his statements against former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The court has issued an order prohibiting any penal action against Marandi in this matter and has summoned the defendant, seeking a response. Marandi had directed his comments towards the Soren family during an interview with a YouTube channel.
The case, registered at Simdega police station on August 25, 2023, was heard today in the court of High Court Judge AK Chaudhary. Representing Marandi in court, senior advocates Ajit Kumar and Prashant Pallav presented arguments on his behalf.
This development follows Marandi's remarks targeting the Soren family during the YouTube channel interview.
